We have been witnessing a significant growth of Jesus Youth in diverse parts of the country. The ministry in various parts of the country is at varied stages of development and hence necessitates an opportunity to address the growth, struggles and future prospects of each region individually. Hence the Jesus Youth National Team has decided to organize Regional Conferences in different parts of the country in 2009. Jesus Youth Conferences have always helped the movement in many ways -for widening the vision, building fellowship, preparing for the future, promoting new initiatives, formation of leadership etc. The Regional Conferences are aimed at appraising, consolidating and orienting and the various initiatives in a platform as broad as possible, at the regional level.

As we are called to shoulder more responsibilities and step into new territories it becomes increasingly urgent to cling on to the essentials that enabled us to make it to where we stand now. It is time to cherish and get deeper-rooted in the basics. Capturing the gist of this vital truth, the tagline of the conferences declares “Grow Deeper Reach Higher”. The topics to ponder upon and study would centre on the scriptural theme “Put out into the deep” (Luke 5:4).

The Conferences would serve as an immediate and major step for the preparation for the Jubilee Celebrations of 2010. The Conferences would call for a lot of preparations- both individually and regionally. Several preparatory steps like formation of mentor-accompanied cell groups, initial or growth retreats at regional levels, intercession, trainings etc could to be thought of. Though the theme of the conferences would remain the same throughout the country, the program would cater to the needs and situations of each region. Obviously the program is not intended for freshers.

The regional conferences would be times of prayer, fellowship, discernment, study and vision-building. They could certainly go a long way to help us prepare for the challenges ahead. And certainly this demands serious preparation of every participating individual- a journey into the roots of Jesus Youth spirituality and lifestyle. Nothing less can be a worthy preparation to gear up for this tremendous occasion of grace.
